Here, Now, Gone
Death is a curious thing,
a calm,
a silent knowledge,
a relaxing,
just knowing
you don’t have to go through the motions,
again,
ever
Death is
acknowledgment,
understanding,
acceptance,
the realization
that nothing can hurt you
anymore
I guess death could be
panic,
a choked scream,
wide-eyes and fearful,
knowing you can’t be saved
But I prefer to think that
death is
peace,
settling
drifting through a storm,
rest after a long day
Death is
staring into my eyes,
my soul
Death is here,
death is now,
death is saying it’s time.
I agree,
so I let go
