I may be full of
Lovesick clichés
But if you give me a chance
We can eat lemon poppy seed muffins
And tip our toes into cool water.

I might even braid my hair
And let it get wet
So that it will try in perfect
Crinkled
Waves
Like a bundt cake
Or the ocean

You can smell of suds and summer
The way you always do,
And we can be
Stunning in our
Love.

I really love the relaxed, tender voice your poem has. It's endearing and I could really feel where you were coming from, but what is at stake in this poem? A really great teacher of mine would always ask us that when he read a poem aloud. In order for something to go from really good to great, something has to be raw and really eye-opening. Dig a knife into your poetry and let the hurt, the longing, the desire flow. You've really got a lot of potential! :)
