Preternatural
I pray you understand my decision
This is unnatural, this is unlike you
 Why don’t you question them?
They seem so graceful when they dance
 But do they not kill?
We have seen them at their task
We know how they do it
But still you fall to your knees in worship
I will stand up and throw off these shackles
I do not pray to the mortal
Their pale skin is not eternal
 No matter it’s beauty
For life has to go somewhere
Life must be displaced, as energy
And they feed on your soul
Don’t be enveloped by their façade
Together we can escape the waste
The metallic smell of their blood (the taste!)
As it roils, boiling in a copper pot
 Staying would be eternal suicide
 You cannot be reborn
For they would take you first
For all you are worth to me
I pray you sing, as you do, for me
I will look for you, I will
I will write your name in the sky
 And in the stars
 And I will plead
 For your salvation
I do not pray to the mortal
Don’t be enveloped by their façade
 They are not eternal
