If I walk into the street lights,
I imagine myself dancing,
Twirling and swirling,
My pretty red dress for all to see,
my eyelashes batting,
My hair in motion,
If I throw my hands up,
People can see my red nails,
And my sleek black Stilleto's.
Tap, tap, clap, clap, you hear my heels,
And my hands clapping together,
My cherry red lips, goin' smack, to the boys.
But then I remember,
I am just a poor girl in New York City,
And no one will watch my Dance, the Dance of Life.
