the questions
“Why”
-Marisa Jones
As I sit here, looking back on my past
I sometimes wonder why you did what you did.
No matter how hard I hit my fist on the table and crinkled my nose;
Why I was not allowed to eat dessert before dinner?
Even when I hid somewhere in the house
gripping the couches as if I were a prisoner about to be sentenced for life in prison
Why did I still have bed times?
And how could you stand to clean up all my crimes?
I know it wasn’t easy sometimes
So I think I should say
Thank you mom, ill appreciate it someday.
