The Joy of Softbal
Dear Softball
I would like to tell you
that you take up all my time.
You tell me
that I chose to play you.
You tell me
I'd be nothing without you.
You tell me
without you I'd be fat.
I would like to tell you
sometimes you make me want to shoot myself in the foot.
So during our next encounter
while I'm in the grass
waiting for a ball to catch,
I'll remember that no matter what
I'll always be in love
with you.
