Locked Doors
He stands strong and firm
A jail guard
Eyeing you, the captured prisoner,
Like a mighty hawk
You can’t get by
He has you surrounded
A burly brick wall on each side,
Towering over you
Protecting the entrance
You can’t see past his brawny shoulders
Only hearing the outside world’s conversations
Imprisoned
To be released later
But for the time being,
You’re trapped
Isolated
All alone-
Except for
The sturdy prison guard
Who stands unflinching
Silent
Staring
