the darlings, the angels,
miscreants.
Crawling through dark
misled, ignored,
shining.
Who leave home for good
for nothing for
failure.
Who forsake future for present
for wilderness city streets
for love unconquered.
What feeling there must be
in underground! In Jericho!
In Sodom and Gomorrah!
Where sin makes sin
makes love
makes holy-
And to that we are all holy
who crawl in the dark
heads down.
