The blank feeling, the emptiness and silence has finally stopped.
Stress and frustration no longer forces my fists to clench.
My eyes are the gentle blue they once were,
instead of the sorrowful dark blue they have been.
The lead ball and chain no longer keeps me weighed down.
I am free once again!
The bond that deceived me has been broken and forgotten.
Left behind but still in plain sight, I watch it carry on.
I shed no tears, I cry no more.
Though it seemed as if I cried more than I did smile,
I still look back on this now past event and learn from it.
I am grateful for the pain I went through,
for it has changed me and made me stronger.
