"God, if I can't have what I want. Let me want what I have."

As I sit on that sandy hill.
listening to the birds,
watching the children play,
and wathcing the waves roll onto the sand

I can hear it.
Can you hear it?
Can you hear the gentle splash of the water?
Does it relax you?
Does it give you that warm,
comforting feeling?

I can feel it.
It sends me to a place of peace.
To a place of deep
and relaxing thoughts.

Thoughts of where
I want to be.
There is no negativity.
Not here.
Not now.

I sit there
full of wonder,
full of courage,
full of definite
pride

I get up from taht sandy hill.
I scream.
I scream for all to hear.

This is me.
This is who I am.
Nobody can change me.
Nobody can tell me I am wrong.

And I,
I am strong.
Stronger than
I ever have been.

For now
I have a heart of stone.
For I will never be broken.

The author's comments:
I feel that mostly every teen has had someone try and tell them what to do or what to think. Basically how to live their life. Whether it was their friends, family, or teachers. My opinion is that it's your life and you should do what you want with it. Well at least what is within the law. It's your life and you shouldn't let someone tell you how to live it. That's why I wrote this.
