My Life
I’m from the life of champagne, not whiskey;
where everything has to be perfect.
I’m from a place where money comes in
big bags, and friends like me for what I can give not
who I am. I’m from that big brick house on the corner
where people gape at first site.
Friends look and say I’m rich,
people look at me and say I’m lucky.
In my opinion I’m from the life of a perfect
nobody. Where everyone pushes you to be
something you’re not.
I’m from the life of riches and luxuries,
where hard work is something in the past,
because your parents shower you in gifts and
riches.
Kids frolicking down the street playing with all
their expensive toys,
and people lounging out next to their pool,
joking about how poor everyone else is.
I’m from the life of money,
where people are so wrapped up in
themselves, that life doesn’t seem to look like much to them.
