Bifercated wounds
never enabled to heal
ascend to the surface.
Revealing
each tear shed
through every struggle faced.
Harboring secrets
becoming more difficult with each breath.
To every set of eyes
from every passer by
'twas but a mere bad day.
But to the one
remaining unseen and unheard
yet, the most observant of all,
underlying truth was revealed.
Alone and Afraid she felt.
Comfort he gave her.
A shoulder to cry on,
he lent her.
A hand to hold,
she grasped.
A distant smile-
Sweet and vaulnerable-
he reclaimed for her.
