If I were a Bird

If I were a bird, would I sing and trill?
Or be locked away, against my will?
If I were a bird, would I fly on invible strings?
Or sit, dejected, with flightless wings?
If I were a bird, would i gather food for my young?
Or live in solitude, all alone?
If I were a bird, would I die happy and free?
Or fall, with a thud, behind lock and key?
