If only people we encountered were like waves in the ocean
Curling us up with their presence
Only to leave once again
Leaving no imprints, no memories
Of yesterday's tomorrow, or today's reminiscences

The footprints one leaves in another's life
Are similar to those left in the sand
The waves wash away those imprints
As those impressions are washed away from us.

Life is like the beach
We come to have fun
We come to try new things
But at the end of the day, we pack
And leave.

We take one step forward
To take one step back again
Only to find that we are alone
Everything is washed away.
Nothing is left imprinted.

I really loved this poem.  You said a lot by saying little.  I really could relate to this, and I love how you compared it to a beach.
