Thoughts of a Dancer
The apprehension is thick
The cloud of hairspray simmers in the air
Girls scurry in bright sequined tutus
 Shoes clatter
 Shushed and hushed voices chatter
Excitement and anticipation course through my veins
But no butterflies flutter inside me today
 It’s my cue
 Tip toe onstage
 Lights flicker and flash
 Music swells
 And I
  begin
 To
 Dance

Isn't it funny how it only takes a few seconds to say hi, but forever to say goodbye?
