her tongue was swollen
with unspoken words
gossamer threads
held her together
he held the blade
that could cut
time.
merging fingers betrayed her
incessant whispers and her own
demons
that had promised to be faithful
now burnedstabbedkilled
their mistress


The author's comments:
This piece was written when I was betrayed by a very close friend. I stabbed myself in the back in a way because I had trusted the wrong person. Regret and fear play a big part in this poem.
