Sleep slowly escapes me,
night after night.
Dreams begin to flee,
running from the fight.
Close your eyes,
and drift away.
Toward the skies,
into the gray.
When the nightmare begins,
you try to open your eyes.
Your heart begins raging,
the nightmare isn't lies.

I've been suffering with insomnia for a long time now, and for about the past week, when I finally do sleep, all I have is nightmares.
