Does it hurt forever?
Does heartbreak hurt
forever?
Or does it fade
Like a scar?
Is there a cure?
Is there a cure
For heartbreak?
Like antibiotics
Or cough syrup?
Or does it stick to you,
Stay with you,
Like cancer?
It may not
hurt
the way a cut might.
It may not burn,
The way a fire might.
But it hurts
And it burns
All the same.
Does it hurt
forever?
Does heartbreak hurt forever?

It took me a little while to write this poem, because I had to fight the tears. If there's anyone out there that thinks-Does heartbreak hurt forever? I'll tell you-no. Its like a scar. Sometimes it itches or throbs, but it just becomes another point in your life that you leaned from.

I like what you said that you had to fight the urge of tears. I think you did an amazing job in this poem. You kept your readers watching for the next question. I really liked the line "It may not burn, the way a fire might." Let's just say it's really cool. Great job!
