Who are the Good Guys Now?
“She dresses in silver and pink, with a tiara
 And the finest jewels of plastic.”
 
 “He spends half his time a superman costume.
 
 He used to wear his baby blanket as cape.”
 “She cried the day her teacher told 
 Her she couldn’t wear her tiara in class
 And tell everyone she was the princess of
 New York.”
 
 “All of his shirts are covered in superheroes
 
 All of his toy cars look like the Batmoblie.
 
 He watches all the Saturday hero cartoons
 
 And fears the Joker hides in his closet.”
 “She says her Ken doll is her prince.”
 
 “He makes the dog his sidekick.”
 
 “She knows every Disney song by heart.”
 “He can name every superhero and villain”
 “She waits for a magic fairy
 And looks for the best way
 To help her kingdom.”
 
 “Every time he walks down the street
 
 He wants to help the people
 
 And save the world of Gotham.”
 “Isn’t it nice for her to know they’ll be a prince
 To sweep her off her feet?”
 
 “And that they’ll always be a Wonder Woman
 
 Or Lois Lane for him to love?”
 “And more than anything else…”
 
 “There can be magic and good in the world?”
 
 
 
 “Mommy, mommy, you should see what’s on TV!”
 
 
 “There were all these skinny girls in new princess clothes!”
 
 
 
 “And big men wrong on a field!”
 
 
 “Daddy, daddy, that’s what we want to be!”
 
 
 
 “Everyone cheered for them…
 
 
 “And clapped for them…”
 
 
 
 “The man on TV after said there were no rules.”
 
 
 “They could do whatever they want”
 
 
 
 “That’s what we want.”
 “Well, baby, that’s not everything.”
 
 “You need to do what’s right”
 “Remember the best princesses are real women like her.”
 
 “Remember the best superheroes are men like him.”
 “They’re gone now, can we talk?”
 
 “Did the papers finally come in?”
 “Yes but I have to get her to sign.”
 
 “Then just love me until my husband comes home.”
