Down

Down

Down
I twist, turn, and tumble down
from the black midnight sky.

I fall, we fall, all from out of no where.
Up, just up. That is where we come from.
We all land on anything in contact,
streets, trees, houses and people.

Some of us will melt, but I will NOT.
I will use all my strength not to melt.
This is my time to play, to have fun.
Not go back to the sky and
repeate the whole cycle again and again.

I came here to play,
and that is exactly what I intend to do.

The author's comments:
This is a piece about a snowflake who is happy about becoming part of life, and he/she does not want to *melt*. There is another message in this poem, life is good and life is fun. Don't take your time for granted.
