Swimming in my Mind
I let it slide
 over my body.
 Like an invisible silk
 as soft as sleep.
 I move my body,
 my limbs,
 in this strange place.
 My hair,
 it falls,
 lays,
 fans
 out around my head.
It sways as if a wind is
 blowing it,
 but in slow motion.

I glide my arms, legs, and mind,
 through this strange abyss.
 I see no light,
 no color.
Yet I know everything around me is
 clear,
 I see only blackness.

 My eyes are closed,
and I feel no need to open them
for I know what I will see.
 Nothing.
 Absolutely nothing.
 This, which surrounds me,
 would blind me,
 blur my vision.
 So,
 my eye lids stay shut.
