I am a sea cow - a magnificent manatee
I swim gracefully through the sea.
Warm shallow waters are where I roam
For a thousand or more years,they have been my home.

Though my frame is large, I am peaceful and quiet.
I search for plants, since that is my diet.
My home of vast waters was one free,
Free of chemicals and other debris.

Now human rubbish plagues my space.
I'm in a sea of confusion, of time, of pace.
My body is scarred by motors and trash,
My friends and family, all taken in a flash.

I am old, an oncient creature,
I plead for your help; I will be your teacher.
Clean my waters, slow your motors roar
Watch out for my kind, or I shall be no more.
