apocalypse mountain

this mountain that we live on
this apocalypse mountain
where every little thing
seems like
the end of the world
this cold
desolate
tundra
they call a university
yet I feel it’s really the cage where
they put the lab rats
and here’s my head and my heart
suddenly unable to function in tandem
it’s the damn feedback
from this damn rat trap
or is it all
cause of freeman hall?
up twice
the second door on your right
you’ll find the source
of my malfunction
and here
at the junction
between feelings and running
he makes the choice a no-brainer
the apocalypse is coming
