Tales of a wise Woman

Walking through the streets
As the world watches me intently
With a vicious gaze that pierces through
My very skin
Like the brisk winter wind
On a windy winter day
I’m quarantined with no place to hide
Laughed at beaten, teased
Purging all my pride
There’s no one there to save me
And no one by my side
I keep my head up high
For deep inside my soul
I anticipate for change of the world
As the brave man once sang
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation
Where they will not be judged by the color of their skin
But by the content of their character” MLK
So I hold my head up high
For one day I know the world will be at my side
