Your Eyes
Your eyes are like diamonds,

 Hard, cold, and beautiful

 Like baby birds hatching,

 Misshaped, miraculous, and adorable

 Like corn growing,

 Boring, long, and sweet

Like dirty smudges on my white shirt,

 Annoying, there, and washable

A piece of coal being burnt

 An ember under the fire

 A sunset on my ocean

 A hair on my shirt

 Like an old race horse,

 Shaggy, glossy, and imperious

 Like an abandoned tire swing,

 Dimensional, round and loved

A man tossed over board and saved

A complex math problem finally solved

A torn pillowcase mended by soft hands.
