Where I come from
The sweet smell of hay fills the air
It's in my clothes, it's in my hair
The cows are just begining to wake
Because of the grain pail, I start to shake
By ones and twos the boys begin to show
There's work to be done and they all know
Outside the tractor starts up
And Grandpa drives by in the old Ford truck
Everyone's tired and half asleep
But we're a farming family and nobody will weep
Pat's out in the shop
Until his works done, he won't stop
The cows are being milked and fed
Dawn walks by and scrathes one's head
Dana's in the calf barn, getting chores done
The little kids are running and playing, they sure have fun
By noon Grandma's kitchen is filled with a good smell
The food is delicious and we all eat well
But it won't last long and we all know
Soon its off to work we go
By dusk we have our work all done
Now it's time to have some fun
Or maybe relax by the fire's glow
Because tomorrows another day of work and we all know
