comes, she comes MAG
from hollyhock and the cracked bathroom tiles
from ravens and the golden eagle and
 a ruby-throated hummingbird, dancing
 on the west wind.
 she comes from opalescent white
and from the glittering ocean blue.
her feet have travelled the lonely road,
through barren tundra and the verdant jungle.
she grew up with chocolate-chip cookies,
pears, and the memory of watermelon.
 friends shall keep her here,
but true love will make her leave.
she is yellow butterflies, and twisted trees.
