Second-Guesser
As I walk through the halls,
The steady beat of my heels,
 Rubber on the greenish-grayish linoleum,
 Reassures me.
I’ll be fine, I think to myself.
 Won’t I?
 It wasn’t that bad.
 Was it?
“If you’re one of those people who second guesses themselves,
Don’t,” my teacher says as we stare at the Scantron,
And I go through the warning symptoms of a heart attack.
 Thump, thump, thump.
The steady beat of my anxiety scares me.
It’s okay, I think to myself.
 It’s not a big deal.
 Is it?
 Oops.
