I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember.
I do and I understand.

Grandma, and sisters, and auntie, and me
Have been playing all day.
We
Jumped to that jump rope game:
“1...2...3...OUT!” when we
Lost.
We kicked that bouncy red ball and
Down hill it went when
I spilled my lemonade. Then,
As we blew bubbles,
I made the bigger one!

I made the bigger one
as we blew bubbles.
I spilled my lemonade, then
Down the hill it went when
We kicked that bouncy red ball and
Lost.
“1...2...3...OUT!” when we
Jumped to that jump rope game.
We
Have been playing all day,
Grandma, and sisters, and auntie, and me.

This poem was included in my memoir. It is about the memory I have of my grandmother, and of fun things I would do at her house as a small child.
