How to Catch a Falling Star

Stars only come

To those who are
Out of luck,
Out of time,
Out of dreams,
Out of hope.

Stars only come
When you least expect it.

Stars can burn
When they touch your skin.
It seems,
For everything,
You must pay a price,
Take a risk.

Often

There is only one shot.
One shot to catch the star.

You need to really will yourself.
Throw your arms out as far as they can go,
And don’t,

Don’t
Think twice.

If you think
You will resist.

Don’t look back.

Always look ahead

Look for a star…

This has been a tough year for me, with three family deaths, two pet deaths, and one friend death. This poem is about never giving up, because things will get better. Whether it is in Heaven or on Earth.

that sounds a lot cooler and more mysterious!  when you get published you should have the definition on the first page, though, so people know what it means.

you wanted me to tell you if i came up with a better title for "the others". I think i found one: "Cimmerian", it means dark and the humans think the others are dark creatures so...
