The Sidewalk

Falling upon the sidewalk of life
I thought I would shine brighter
Show everyone who tough I was
But now
I realize
That when I fall, I fail
Nothing for the others to stop and see
Like a bright
Bright light
But instead, it’s not pretty,
A disgrace
I’m not as tough as I knew I would be
But now
I realize
It is harder than I thought
To get up off the sidewalk
