GrassStem
With her long green stem,
She waves in the gentle breeze
 To the flattering shine
 Of the bright sun
She feels the heat of his waves
 As she grows so steadily.
Yet when the winter time comes
 She dies.
 Cut off in her prime
 Just to be repeated
 Over and over
 She grows in the sunlight
 Long and tall
 Cut short,
 She grows again
 Just to die once more
But she knows what it feels like to live
And strive in the wonderful heat
 So she gets through winter
 Shrivelled, looking dead
But she will rise again soon
