You Make Me Miss The Past
I remember our October
We grew close with small inside jokes
asking questions we knew the answer to just to speak
I remember our Halloween too
Though we were not together we grew close in our minds
Teasing over your terrible costume
Then flirting with me around your friends
You make me remember
You keep me thinking
I hate it
I no longer dream about the future but of what was
I no longer yearn to go to school to see you
But nonetheless I still want to
I stopped looking ahead yet I step all the same
I miss the past where I awaited the future
Where I awaited you
If I could go back even nothing changed
I’d go back just to tell you
your costume wasn’t so bad

I think the best poetry comes from personal experiences and feelings; not from what sounds the coolest or most philosophical. Just express yourself honestly.
