Don't drown in shallow water just because you want someone to save you.

Why is it that we choose the sun as the star

In its appearance we say sunrise

A sight to behold that many sit to see

Even in its exit lovers lock eyes allowing the light in there eyes to shine as the dark sky stretches out

Whether as it glows or wanes it’s praised

But why is it the moon is not

We speak of it as if an after affect of the sun

The credits to a wonderful movie

In its recognition comes dread

Why is it people say night falls upon us

Why can’t the moon rise too

If the sun and moon are separate then why

Why is it we ignore when the moon fades

We don’t say the moon has set

Instead we say the sun has risen

Does the moon not shine too

Maybe others don’t but I see it

That moon

You are that moon

In the hollow of night

My back faces the peaking light of the sun

As I watch the moon set

And I’ll wait again

To see it rise
