The Steady Flame

Life isn't loud, it isn't fast.

We make it heavy by the past.

Life asks no trial, by fire or stone.

The mind, unchecked, misleads itself alone.

I watched a river, choose its way.

Not loud, not fast, yet night and day.

The hill stood still, the seasons changed,

yet river never once complained.

Life would not rehearse days.

It moves once through, unreturning ways.

Moments fade before they're found.

So stay consistent while you're around.

I Don't step away when effort tests.

I stay with what I choose -no more, no less.

Through rain and cost, I tend the steady flame.

No hand can halt me- I return the same.
