Cosmos
Only a cosmos.
That is all that remains
It has no purpose to grow.
It can't be used in bouquets,
It has no use in soup,
There is no soup.
No human.
Nothing.
Only a cosmos,
Pink and shining,
Ready to be used.
No one to see it,
No one to taste it.
Only a cosmos,
The only flower on a dead and withering world,
Standing in a sea of grey, dead plants.
Only a cosmos,
Growing out of an eye.
