Action

In innocence and purity we rejoice

We count the things we don’t possess

In pain the lead does raise her hand & the wind pulls at her hair

You braid her hair,

tie an allegorical noose,

talk to the summer air

Cut

Mistake no. 2

Holding you closely like a child

Taking the pain

Taking it all

Breaking away

Inviting you into my life

First four checkmate

One my fall

Cut

Your mistakes:

Let’s say Attention sells

Talent sells

What does that word even mean?

& in & out you tear apart

& in & out you leave

To live or not perform

The apple falls and eats the tree

Cut

My eulogy:

In goes the beat of that drum

Out goes the beat of that drum

Steady forevermore

& contradiction makes her decision so in oblivion she rumbled cross the sky

I loved you dearly,

My other half, my enemy, my pedestal,

Good bye.

The author's comments:

Stories from messy dramatic teenage politics and someone who I’ll never read this poem to. Hope you enjoy the show.
