Is life really worth living?

Life is hard when we are on guard 

from being charred in the past 

and we’re scarred from the people around us. 

Sometimes it's ourselves that puts us behind bars 

in our minds 

but we fight for the light 

and we try to be bright 

but we can’t cuz when we shine it’s TOO bright 

and we lose our sight 

And. We. Fall.

We fall so far down and when we fall, 

we lose our crown,

I feel like a clown.

So… I shut down.

The world is now dark all around

And we can't fathom the darkness that has torn us down.

We start to drown.

All those kids in grade school on the playground…

They weren’t wrong.

But you’re older now.

You’re bolder now.

You understand more now.

It’s harder now.

But the question is:

Is life really worth living?

If life wasn’t worth living, 

there wouldn’t be hardships.

There wouldn't be moments when we struggle

to stay humble 

and we fumble ourselves around 

and get in trouble

And juggle our own thoughts in our own heads.

But doesn’t that seem like a good thing?

Without all these things, we wouldn’t succeed.

Without all these things, we wouldn’t lead.

Without all these things, we couldn’t fight.

Without all these things, there would be spite.

Without all these things, we wouldn't be free.

Without all these things, we wouldn’t be able to see…

The good.

Because there IS good.

And there is bad.

Life is hard when we are on guard

Joy wouldn’t feel so good

If it wasn’t for pain

So, is life really worth living?

Yeah. Yeah, it is.

You only live once.

Make the most of it.

Even if it is hard.

That doesn't mean it’s not good.
