A Happy Ending is the Only Wrong Ending in the World’s Eyes

This is the way our world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper
A decision with no win
falls upon you.
But you decide to win anyways.
“Sometimes the best thing to do
is no thing at all.”
But not now.
The “perfect little house” you built
turns to sand.
You sit alone with sandy toes:
without.
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

With an epigraph both at the start and end of the poem, that being of The Hollow Men (T.S Elliot) and Nothing Gold Can Stay (Robert Frost), as well as the second person POV make it rather unique for me.
