Winter

You see it as cold and insufferable.

Is it miserable and harsh?

It’s dead and freezing.

You see it as dreadful.

I see it as rebirth.

The season of snuggles.

The season of movie nights

and warm blankets and bodies.

It’s a season of hot chocolate

and peppermint smells.

The season of love,

and deeper fashion.

A season of late nights

And late mornings too.

A wonderland of frost

And Cancelled school.

Dogs made for snow

Rejoice in the fresh blanket

Kids are sledding

And building people too.

Parents are kissing boo-boos

And pushing kids back out

Then welcoming them inside

With cocoa when they pout.
