This is what depression feels like
I feel a constant weight upon my chest
A certain darkness that won't let me rest
Each day is like a constant test
So I just stay in my nest
The world around me seems to fade
And my colors start to turn a cold gray
I smile, but it's all a charade
a ‘fun’ game
A new blame
and it fools no one, not even me
I feel all alone
Even In a crowded room,
like it’s all people I don’t know
Like I’m far from home
No one can hear my silent cries
Or see the tears that I don't show
I long to feel the sun again
To bask in its warmth
But all I feel is endless rain
That washes none of my pain away
