My Family
“Family comes first”
My Dad always explains to me
So family oriented I submersed
I knew everyone on my family tree
In the morning, I awoke
Filling the cars like bears
Racing my cousins, we joked
Forever ignoring our parents’ glares
In the afternoon, we went out
Seating 20 to one big table
My family was seen throughout
Celebrating nothing just cause we were able.
In the night, everyone began to home
Driving our gossiping immersed
I knew I would never be alone
My family always came first.

Growing up, I always knew that my family came first. At the time it was blood that made family, but as I grew my definition grew.
