Her Lie in April
TRIGGER WARNING: domestic abuse, suicide, alcoholism
Her Lie in April (a 7 yr old girl POV)
My Mom is an angel
Her warm touch feels so gentle
She holds me dear
With Eyes of Crystal Clear
April it was when she made me a promise,
She will always be there for me and she will never vanish
It's her unbreakable Pinky Promise!
My dad is he who must not be named
He loves to drink a joyous juice
Every Night he makes my mom cry
Every Morning I ask my mom why
"Your dad is just sad sweetie" with a smile she reply
I look at her eyes and see through her lie
She's hiding her pain and I don't know why
The next day my dad feels sad again
so he punched my mom's angelic face
he smash her till she breaks
Tomorrow is my 7th birthday and then
I found my mom sleeping with a rope on her neck
I try to wake her up but she's up there in the ceiling
I asked my dad what's happening
He said with tears in his face, "Your mom is gone"
But I don't believe him because he is a drunk man
My mom won't leave me. She made me a promise
She will stay with me and never vanish
It's her unbreakable pinky promise.
Then now I grew up and found out it was a lie.
Her Lie was a final goodbye.
