Back to before
When you came into my life
I watched you from afar
You didn't seem meant for me
My friend fit your standard though
But I did mind as yours fit mine
We both knew that wouldn't last
You could never settle for just one
I always had a feeling
A feeling that we would be left in the end
How I would long for you
It seemed like you agreed
You and the new girl were more fit though
So I played the long game
Listened to the problems you shared
Learned your favorite songs
The pros, the cons, what you like or what you don't
I began to really like you
Deep down I hoped you thought the same
When you weren't obtainable
That didn't stop our fate
Tuning every reputation either of us had
We risked it all
Rumors flew
The truth came out
Now that all has been said and done
I want to go back
Back to being friends
Now that I have you i feel the pain
I know you can never settle for one
I know that your friend will never just be a friend
I know about your secret meet ups
When I know everything
Trust becomes hard
And I start to realize the reality
I don't fit your standards
And you sure as hell don't fit mine
