The Love that was Concealed by Hate
I used to wonder about the way I was treating you,
but now I question why we wasted time without regret.
I always viewed you as an obstacle who was trying to copy my dreams,
but I never thought you were going to be a part of that dream.
I once saw the happiness in your eyes that I desired.
but now I am creating happiness along your side.
If I could kill the words that managed to sink you,
I would light them up in fire and let them burn.
I never saw the spark you had to ignite my childhood,
but I might be the one to clear out the doubts forming at the start of your path.
I can't retrieve back my steps to grow with you,
but I can deepen my understanding by fixing what I broke.
I used to think of you as a distraction who just wanted to ruin the perfect world I craved for,
but now I see you hold the star I must have in order to live my life without bitterness.

This art piece is based on the growth that I have experienced with my brother in terms of love, I wanted to write about something that people can relate to and at the same time base it on my experiences.
