Rhythm
The rhythm of his heart beats slowly,
Like a calm ocean with small waves;
I never thought I would be lying here,
Counting down the days.
I move with the rhythm,
The rhythm of his heart;
For I shall never be alone,
Because we’ll never be apart.
He is a part of me,
That i wish to embrace;
But all along he’s been hiding,
Waiting to set the pace.
There is no other rhythm,
I’d listen to so closely;
For my heart desires him,
And only him loosely.
His rhythm starts to flow faster,
And he becomes furious;
Feeling as if he is trapped,
Where he is no longer curious.

My name is Mikah James. This piece of poetry's hidden meaning applies to ftm transgender kids and adults. I'd like to submit this piece so I can advocate the voices of anyone like me who is afraid to speak up about how they are feeling.
