Growing up I never though this day would come,
slowly this day inches closer.
Seeing the bags pack and all my belongings at the door,
I wonder where time goes.
My anxiety increasing every mile,
knowing that after my parents drop me off I will be all alone.
The sound of the tires rumbling on the road.
I instinctively check my phone.
As a child I thought it would be so fun,
now all I can feel is numb.
They never tell you how you will feel,
it all used to be so very clear.
College used to sound exciting,
now that it is here all I want to do is stay in hiding.
Now I know how fast time goes,
I will not let this bitterness ruin my show.
