Seeing You
I saw you in the halls, your head low,
I saw you walking out of class, headphones always in.
I saw your story on snapchat, music as always.
I saw you watching me while with your friends.
I thought I saw you differently than everyone else.
They told me to be careful.
They told me to watch my back and my heart.
They told me he was a bad idea.
They told me it wasn’t worth it.
Maybe you knew what you wanted less than I did.
Maybe you're just another one of those people.
Maybe you were never interested in the first place.
While maybes and what if’s cloud my brains judgment,
I see a break in the storm that drowns me.
I can breathe.
While the storm clouds fade away,
I see the reminisce of the person you left behind.
Maybe I’m more hurt than I should be.
Maybe I can just push everything out of mind.
Maybe I just want to yell.
They told me I told you so.
They told me I was fine.
They told me how to feel and when to feel it.
They told me it was my fault.
I see you walk past me, avoiding eye contact.
I see you turn around after I pass, just to get a good look at me.
I see you wandering around town,
I see you lock eyes on my car.
I see you not showing a care in the world.
Now I just wish I didn’t see you at all.
