i move aimlessly,
blankly,
like an airplane
on autopilot.
i stretch my arms out
to feel something,
anything.
the world is quiet
and empty.
i do not know that it is there.
it does not know that i am here.
my eyes dart
back and forth,
sheathed by
closed eyelids.
i cry out into the
darkness, nothing but
silence echoing back.
there is nobody here
and i cannot
make a sound.
please,
somebody please
wake me up.
i
can't
do
it
alone.
