dance of life
just like everything new and exciting,
one day you just…
showed up.
you appeared. and so suddenly, at that.
you had this quiet glow about you,
something unnoticeable to someone
without an eye for it.
as i got to know you, i started to feel
like you were an enigma.
you were this boundless, free-
spirited figure that had somehow
wandered into my life that was
chiseled in stone.
i was so afraid;
i feared the unknown, i feared
the future, i feared what would
become of me if i let myself
fall into your spinning world
of uncertainty.
but the spinning became something
i welcomed, with my arms wide open,
as if you were twirling me in the center
of a ballroom,
you held my hand the entire way through,
keeping me on my feet when i started
to stumble.
and although i may not be perfect at it,
i think i can say i've learned quite well
the moves, and rhythms, of your
dance of life.

"dance of life" is what it feels like when you meet someone new that completely sweeps you off of your feet, and yet never lets you fall. It's about the kind of love that never sleeps, but never pushes too hard.
